Nothing quite says “winter wonderland” like taking a few turns on the ice under the stars. We’ve looked out the best ice rinks near our properties for you to enjoy on your winter and summer holidays in the French Alps!
La Clusaz
The ice rink in La Clusaz is a covered rink with a solid roof but open sides, meaning you can skate with the buzz of the village all around.
The rink is found at the bottom of the village next to the Patinoire and Beauregard gondola stations. It is open throughout the winter season and also during the summer holidays. Remember if you are visiting in the summer, even though it is warm out in the mountain air, it can get quite cold down by the rink so bring a jumper!
Le Grand Bornand
The covered ice rink in Le Grand Bornand is found a short walk from the village centre and it’s open sides give you the feeling of ice skating outside.
The rink is only open during the winter months, opening its doors just before Christmas and closing mid April.
Children’s “ice garden” sessions are held specifically for children between the ages of three and ten (as well as an accompanying adult), making a safe and enjoyable environment for younger skaters.
Skating under the stars in Les Gets
Les Gets boasts a quaint open air ice rink found right in the village center. Kids games and toys are available to rent and you can book the whole rink for birthday parties!
The rink is only open in the winter months. For more information visit the Les Gets website.

The ‘Skoda Arena’ is a large, 52x26m rink and is home to the ‘Pingouins’, the Morzine Ice Hockey club. With music and lights it makes the perfect place for having fun on the ice!
The 30x15m outdoor rink is open to the public to enjoy the true winter experience. Situated in the heart of Morzine and equipped with lights and music it makes for a great fun spot for a few loops on the ice! Don’t miss the weekly show every Thursday for all of the family to enjoy.

Open air ice skating at the Annecy Christmas Market
Take a turn on the traditional style open air ice rinks by the Village des Alpes at the Annecy Christmas Market. This year there are two rinks; one small 30m2 rink dedicated to toddlers to make a safe place for them to take their first tentative turns on the ice, and a large 430m2 rink for older kids and adults.
There are going to be two well placed chalets near the rink, offering hot and cold non-alcoholic drinks, festive sweets, pancakes, waffles, churros and more …. Nobody said that you had to be cold and hungry while watching your kids on the ice!
The Annecy Christmas Market is in town from 23 November 2018 until the 6 January 2019.
