About Villa Flying Dragon ...
Enjoy fabulous views of Lake Annecy and the mountains from the pool, terraces and balconies of this stunning contemporary 4-star villa just outside the lakeside village of Talloires.
Up to eight guests will find plenty of space at Villa Flying Dragon, which has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a games room.
One of the bedrooms is next to a small kitchen and living area, making a small apartment for a couple who would appreciate a little extra privacy.
The pretty village of Talloires has a lovely lakeside beach and harbour area, restaurants, bars and a cinema. You'll find a good supermarket and shops in nearby Menthon St Bernard (3km) and there's easy access to the Aravis mountain resorts of La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Le Croix Fry (35 minutes by car).
The property ...
Villa Flying Dragon is a three-storey property sleeping eight people in four double bedrooms, with three bathrooms.
Three of the bedrooms can be found on the first floor - there are two double bedrooms, which open on to a balcony, and a third room which can be made up with twin beds or a large double bed. These rooms share a bathroom with a bath and separate shower. There's also a separate WC.
The fourth bedroom, which can be arranged with a kingsize or twin beds, is on the ground floor, and forms part of an apartment, with an open-plan kitchen, living room and dining area. There are two more terraces off this area, offering different but equally stunning views of the lake and mountains. It also has a shower room.
The main living area is light and airy with doors on to a covered balcony. There is a well-equipped kitchen, a dining table which seats eight so that everyone can eat together, and a relaxing sitting area with a large sofa and a wall-hung television. There's a separate WC on this floor.
There's a games room with table football, darts and board games on the lower ground floor.
Villa Flying Dragon is set in beautiful landscaped gardens, the highlight of which is the delightful raised terrace and outdoor pool (May-October). It's the perfect place to relax in a hammock and watch the paragliders come in to land, or enjoy a barbecue as the sun sets.
There is parking below the house and entrance is through electronic gates.
About the area ...
It would be hard to find a better location than Villa Flying Dragon for a summer holiday exploring the French Alps.
Swim in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Annecy from the beautiful beach area in Talloires, just minutes from your front door, or try watersports such as water-skiing, kayaking, or stand-up paddleboarding. A cycle path runs almost all of the way around the lake and there's plenty of hiking around Annecy, or you could hire a boat and visit one of the many waterside restaurants.
For a change of scene, head for the mountains. There’s a huge range of activities to be found in La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Manigod (climbing, hiking, mountain-biking and paragliding to name just a few!).
The Golf Club du Lac d’Annecy in Talloires is just one of several first-class golf courses in the area, and the stunning Chateau de Menthon-Saint-Bernard, less than five minutes' drive away, is definitely worth a visit.
From Talloires it's an 11km scenic drive to the beautiful town of Annecy. As well as weekly produce and antique markets, there are annual highlights such as the Venetian carnival in February, the animated film festival in June and the Lake festival in August.
If you would rather relax back at the villa you won’t be short of things to do - enjoy the Japanese-style terraced garden, relax in the hammock by the pool or a barbecue on the terrace while you enjoy the stunning views of the Lake Annecy area.

The OVO Network Review
Stylishly refurbished by the new owners, Villa Flying Dragon, a stunning 180m2 villa for 8 in Talloires, has two very different yet equally magnificent views of Lake Annecy.
With its outdoor living space comprising of pool, terraces, balconies, dining area, lounge area, and landscaped gardens, the villa is a superb location in the summer. You can even watch paragliders coming in to land at the nearby landing zone from the comfort of the hammock on the terrace!
Inside, the spaces are flooded with daylight, thanks to the many floor-to-ceiling windows. In fact our overriding impression from visiting the villa is of the amount of blue visible in the natural green landscape, provided by the sky, the lake, and the pool.
There are three double bedrooms and a large bathroom on the top floor, and a fourth bedroom, which forms part of a cosy apartment with a kitchen and open-plan living area on the ground floor. But the main living area, with cosy seating, a dining table and a fully-equipped kitchen, is plenty big enough for everyone to get together.
There is plenty of storage space throughout the villa, including room to store bikes, ski kit, paddle boards etc in the long double garage.
The property is within 600m of quite a challenging steep and winding road section of the dedicated cycle path around lake Annecy, 2.5 km from the beach at Talloires, and 3.5 km from the beach at Menthon Saint Bernard. The medieval old town of Annecy is 11.5km away.
You'll need a car when you stay at Flying Dragon, and as the property is split across three levels it is perhaps not ideal for those with limited mobility. However, the apartment on the ground floor has stair-free accommodation for two people.

You just cannot resist this place – the lake, the mountains, the sky, the trees, the rocks, the blue, green, white… the great people, the food and drinks - and the view!
Once you have seen the view of Lake Annecy, you will fall in love with this beautiful area - just as we did!.
Over the last 15 years, we have lived and worked in three continents and numerous countries: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Taipei, Singapore, San Francisco, Denver, Philadelphia, Tunisia, Paris.. But every year, there’s always one place we want to return to - Lake Annecy.
In summer, you can go hiking, swimming, rock climbing, trekking, biking, jogging, golf, and all the mountain activities. In winter, you can explore the different ski resorts in the area and still be back to enjoy the sunset and the view of the lake and mountains.
After a 10-year search and hundreds of house visits, we decided to buy Villa Flying Dragon the moment we set eyes on it.
Knowing this region well, we are still astonished by the view and the brightness of the villa. We call it Flying Dragon for many reasons: the sky is so blue that you feel all the gravity slipping from your life while you are enjoying the view from our deck.
Meanwhile, you will see many paragliders flying around you, enjoying their moment of freedom. We brainstormed many names, the lake, the view, the rock, the four seasons, the fun zone, the cosiness, the happy hour… Thus – Villa Flying Dragon it is.
but none of them expressed what we felt about our villa.
There are two parts of this villa – one main area with a big open kitchen and a bright living room on the first floor and the second floor has three cosy rooms. On the other side, there’s an individual one bedroom apartment with a kitchen, living room and shower/toilet.
We think this could be great for a group of friends and families spending a week together, but who also wish to have some independent space.
In the summer, you will also enjoy the outdoor swimming pool and dining area. Our pool-side sofa area (the lavender zone) is the best place to watch the sunset over the lake.
If the weather is nice, you can relax in the hammock and count shooting stars under the summer sky.
The location is perfect.
You are not far from the town, but very close to nature.
You can ski in winter and swim in summer – all within 10-30 minutes drive. If you are inspired by stories in Peter Mayle’s “A year in Provence”, and dream about the French country lifestyle, food and drinks and a nice neighborhood, enjoy all the earthy pleasure of French country life and would like to live vicariously at a pace governed by weeks, not by the day – come and experience Lake Annecy!
With the lake and mountains on your doorstep and plenty to do in every season, there's no need to compromise!
We hope you enjoy this as much as we do!

“Perfect getaway”
We had a wonderful stay at the villa and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Valerie was an excellent property manager. The house was very comfortable, well-equipped, and well-located.
“Breathtaking views of the mountains, lake and paragliders”
We spent a week of vacation with our children and friends, and it was a wonderful escape. The place is peaceful, with breathtaking views of the mountains, lake, and paragliders. The accommodation is functional, well-equipped, and as described, although there were a few unresolved issues during our stay. However, this didn’t stop us from having a great vacation.
“Perfect family getaway”
In addition to plenty of air-conditioned and well-equipped indoor space, and a fantastic pool with a stunning view, we enjoyed being so close to Talloires (use the free bus!), beaches, villages along the lake, and the mountains. A great setup for a family of seven.
