Chalet Cinq Moutons ...
The incredible multi-level garden is one of the highlights of this stunning luxury chalet in Praz-de-Fort, right at the border between Switzerland and Italy. Meandering paths will take you on a journey of discovery, past sunny terraces, ponds, waterfalls and along a sculpture trail, created by the owner. At the bottom of the garden is a river which flows from a glacier.
If you're visiting in the summer, the garden is just the start of your exploration - wonderful hikes and bike trails start from the door of Chalet Cinq Moutons, and there are watersports and swimming at nearby Champex Lac.
In the winter there is skiing at Champex and La Fouly, as well as the larger resort of Verbier, which can be reached by car and cable car.
The chalet itself is just as impressive as the garden. There are great views in every direction - of the garden, the valley and the mountains - and walls of glass make the most of them.
There's a gym with a sauna and shower, where you can relax or work out, as the mood takes you. There's also a sunken indoor hot tub, with wonderful views over that impressive garden and mountains.
About the property ...
At first glance, this unusual contemporary chalet looks like three different buildings, but they are all cleverly interlinked to create an imaginative and spacious property.
Sleeping 14 guests (12 adults max) in 7 bedrooms, four of which are en suite and set over 3 floors. One of the bedroom is a mezzanine with 1 double bed and 2 single beds.
You'll enter on the ground floor, well-equipped kitchen with a large range cooker and a dining area. Sliding doors open on to the furnished terrace from the dining area - why not step outside to enjoy an apero? There's also a cosy reading area and a bar here with valley and mountain views.
Stairs to the first floor separate this area from the living room, beautifully lit by a double height wall of glass, overlooking the garden. An elegant sofa and chairs are arranged around a wood burning stove and you can also access down to the lower ground floor, where you'll find the gym, shower and sauna, as well as a laundry room.
Up on the first floor, you will find two bedrooms - starting with the spacious master suite, with a large double bed, a corner bath overlooking the garden and an en suite shower room. Next door to this is another double en suite bedroom.
Move from here into the second part of the chalet, where you'll find another kitchen area, with a desk and piano. This useful area is perfect for preparing children's meals, or perhaps for guests who want to eat separately. A ladder staircase connects this room to a mezzanine family room with a double bed and two singles. There's plenty of space and games for children to play up here, too.
Back on the ground floor of the second part, there are two double bedrooms, which share a large bathroom with WC, as well as a TV room with a huge L-shaped sofa and a wood burning stove.
There's yet another living room, with a sofa and armchairs in the third part of the chalet - again huge windows flood the room with light. The sunken hot tub is here too, overlooking the garden. Stairs lead from here to the first floor to find another lounge area and a double bedroom. And the last en suite bedroom is actually the owners favourite - the entrance is located from the midlevel of the garden, completely isolated and perfect for a couple. You can enjoy a seating area outside and amazing garden views.
There is one garage at the chalet which can also be used as a ski room and space to park up to seven cars.
A tourist tax of 3.60CHF per adult and 1.80CHF per child, per night booked, will be collected by the property manager of Chalet Cinq Moutons' on arrival.
About the area ...
The area around Praz-de-Fort has a lot to offer as far as activities and attractions are concerned. In winter, you can easily access the slopes around the villages of Champex-Lac and La Fouly. Champex, at 2000m altitude, is nicknamed "Little Canada" and has very good snow conditions.
Only 20 minutes away, the Le Châble cable car takes you directly to the resort of Verbier. All these resorts offer paragliding, ice climbing and many other snow sports.
For a moment of relaxation, you can visit the thermal baths of Lavey-les-bains (35 minutes away) or Saillon (37 minutes away). These two spa towns offer a wide range of wellness facilities and pools, both indoor and outdoor.
In summer, the lake of Champex is an ideal starting point for walks and bike rides. The cable car to La Breya allows you to enjoy the view without the climb. You can also explore the lake by boat or pedal boat, before sampling the local cuisine in one of the restaurants on the shore.
As you’d expect the scenery in Praz-de-Fort is spectacular, with gorges, mountains and forests to discover. The hillsides are covered in Alpine plants, many of which have culinary and medicinal uses - the botanical garden near Champex is a great place to learn more about them.
This diverse area has so much to offer!

Location
Praz-de-fort - Verbier
Val Ferret is actually two separate valleys linked by the Col de Ferret on the border of Italy and Switzerland.
On the Swiss side, the valley drains towards Orsieres, whereas on the Italian side, it drains southwestwards towards Courmayeur.
The border with France is also just a short drive away, so when you stay in this area, you’ll have three countries to explore, either by car, by bike or on foot!

The OVO Network Review
This chalet in Praz-de-Fort, Switzerland, is a real stunner! It sleeps up to 14 people (max 12 adults and 2 children) in seven bedrooms, four of which are en suite, and accommodation is set over three floors,
The layout is somewhat different, in that the chalet is spread across three interlinked buildings, which give a great level of privacy for several families staying together. This is further enhanced by the second kitchen area, which can be used to prepare children's meals and snacks, or perhaps by members of the group who wish to cater for themselves.
We love the gym area, with its own shower and a great sauna. There's also an indoor hot tub, which overlooks the beautiful garden.
The garden is a real highlight of this property - follow the winding paths past ponds, waterfalls and an incredible sculpture trail created by the owner. Children will spend hours exploring this magical outdoor space, but the presence of water features and a river at the bottom of the garden mean young children should be supervised.
There is plenty of parking for up to seven cars at the chalet, as well as one separate garage. You'll need your car when you stay here, but it's only a short drive to the nearest town of Orsieres, and there's skiing at La Fouly, Champex, and Verbier.
In the summer you can walk or bike from the chalet, but there's plenty more to discover if you venture a little further afield, You're only a short distance from the French border too, so you'll have two countries to explore!

From the owner
Sivan & Mordechai
The Chalet Cinq Moutons was built by our beloved parents who envisioned it since they first saw the bare land covered with blankets of snow in the middle of winter 2002.
Our mother, Riki Perry (1949-2021), was the most talented, fearless businesswoman we have ever known. Among many other businesses she managed throughout the years, this one was her favorite and most enjoyable, where she put her heart and soul.
The house was planned and designed to the last detail with great focus on combining luxury with the feeling of a country house making sure the outstanding views and powerful nature can be well seen also from the inside. Through the time after it was already standing, they started to design the botanical garden.
This is where our mother spent most of her time and energy studying and caring for this amazing garden. She knew every single flower out of the 400 species of alpine plants present, and nurtured the organic garden enjoying freshness, out of the garden, vegetables and fruits during spring and summer.
The garden and house are also dotted with few of my dear father’s (Motty Perry) unique sculptures. He is an artist, sculpturing in different techniques using various materials such as wood, glass, cement, and metal.
Walking through the garden paths, descending towards the forest and river, you will enjoy hidden sitting areas, sculptures garden, tranquillity, and beautiful nature.
You can literally spend your day exploring here. This unique house, located in the most beautiful place on earth, became our second home where we spend the greatest time of our life with our families.
We are so happy to share this love with people who appreciate nature, lifestyle and peace of mind.

“A perfect week with friends”
We were a group of 8 friends who had a great week in this chalet .Well located for hiking, comfortable, with a beautiful, well-maintained garden and a pleasant welcome. We highly recommend it. Beautiful chalet, spacious, well-maintained, clean, with top-notch amenities (sauna, jacuzzi, barbecue).
“Cozy chalet for a memorable stay”
I highly recommend staying here. The chalet is very nice and reasonably priced. The locals are friendly and the manager is very helpful.
“Chalet was breathtaking”
I can't speak highly enough of what a beautiful, enjoyable experience it was staying at the beautiful chalet. Beset by the remarkable and striking Swiss Alps, the view from inside and outside the Chalet was breathtaking. The host was more than accommodating, friendly, and was able to give us (a family of 9!) plenty of time and recommendations, no matter what the request was. The host went over and above to accommodate our requirements and was always willing to lend a helping hand. There was also a great digital guidebook with helpful tips, recommendations, and reminders and considerations for us to remember as we ventured out into hikes in nearby areas. The chalet itself is beautifully designed, very spacious, with amazing amenities and equipment. The host even baked us a fresh apple pie when we arrived! Truthfully, we couldn't speak highly enough of our experience; it was a once-in-a-lifetime family experience that we won't forget. Thank you for making our trip special.
