The Trois Vallees, with its resorts of Couchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens are the world's largest ski area, with 600km of slopes and snow pretty much guaranteed. The ultra-modern lift system keeps queues down to a minimum, and first-class snow parks provide great facilities for boarders.
And don't forget that the French Alps are a great place for a summer holidays too - when the snow melts the rivers become a great destination for white water sports, while mountain-biking and hiking are always popular.
