If you're dreaming of a holiday in a cosy mountain chalet with family and friends, have a look at Chalet OCimes. It has a sauna, a hot tub, a large garden with terraces, and even a view of a lovely waterfall. And it's all just 1km from the popular Alpine resort of Samoëns!
In the ski season, the village is connected to the 265km of pistes in the Grand Massif domaine. During the rest of the year, the region offers hiking, cycling and rafting, as well as a tree-top assault course and several sporting options at the Lac aux Dames leisure centre.
The beautiful village of Samoëns is a popular place for skiers to stop for lunch at the many popular restaurants and bars around the charming pedestrian square. There are also delicatessens, supermarkets and bakeries, as well as ski and bike hire shops, so you can get everything you need for your holiday.
About the property…
Chalet OCimes sleeps up to 12 guests (max 10 adults) in five bedrooms with six bathrooms over two floors. Its outdoor spaces include a large garden, two terraces and a balcony.
The main living area on the ground floor includes a seating area with a corner sofa, fireplace and television, and a modern kitchen with double oven, wine store and central island. They are separated by a long dining table, which overlooks the terrace and garden, accessed via sliding patio doors.
There's a family bedroom suite with a double bed and three single bunk beds on this floor. It has its own bathroom with a bath and toilet. The wellness area is next door, with a sauna, two showers, a WC and an outdoor hot tub on the large terace.
You will find four double bedrooms on the first floor, each with an en-suite shower room and toilet. Two also have baths, and the other two open onto private balconies. One of these bedrooms also contains a study for those who want to work remotely.
The large landing boasts a TV area with a cosy sofa, and there are two more sofas on the mezzanine floor.
There's room for one car in the garage, which also has a charging point for electric vehicles, a ski rack with a heated boot dryer, and a laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
About the area…
Whatever time of year you decide to visit the magnificent Grand Massif and the Giffre Valley, there are always plenty of activities to keep you busy.
Samoëns is one of five ski resorts in the Grand Massif area, along with Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. Together, they have 139 pistes and 62 lifts, so there's something for everyone, whatever their age or ability.
Samoëns is home to a charming square where you can enjoy a long, lazy lunch in summer, or simply have a coffee and watch the crowds go by. Many skiers also stop in Samoëns for a bite to eat, before heading back up into the mountains.
In summer, you can enjoy hiking and cycling in the mountains, as well as water sports on the River Giffre. The riverside Lac aux Dames leisure area is a great day out for families. It has a bathing beach as well as a horse-riding centre, tree-top assault course, Segway, electric skateboards and much more. Youngsters can enjoy the running track, playgrounds, inflatables and trampolines, and trout fishing is free for those staying in the area.
The village of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, less than 20 minutes' drive away, is also well worth a visit. It is one of the most beautiful villages in France, set in a natural amphitheatre of high limestone cliffs. It's also the starting point for some superb white-water rafting and a via ferrata course.

Once a home to skilled stonecutters, the traditional Alpine village of Samoens is now the gateway to some wonderful skiing, walking and biking in the Grand Massif.
It’s a great choice if you’re looking for a ski resort where you can relax after an exhilarating day in the mountains.

Up to 12 guests (including 10 adults) can stay at Chalet OCimes, which has five bedrooms and six bathrooms spread over two floors.
With two terraces, a balcony and a flat garden, its outdoor spaces are a real bonus, especially for a property so close to the centre of Samoëns. The ski slopes are less than 2km away, and in summer there is a water sports centre 3km away.
Each of the chalet's five bedrooms has an en-suite bath or shower room.
The two seating areas with TVs and the mezzanine allow everyone to do their own thing, without disturbing the rest of the group.
The kitchen is well equipped and very practical, with a double oven and plenty of space for preparing your meals. There is also a central island where you can gather for a coffee.

As lovers of nature and unspoilt spaces, we were looking for a refuge to welcome our family and friends. When we visited the region in search of the perfect place, we fell in love with the charming, lively village of Samoëns.
As for the chalet, with its open, light-filled spaces, spacious accommodation for our friends, and beautiful, traditional materials that bring warmth to a thoroughly modern layout, it immediately caught our attention.
Finally, the exterior, with its view of the waterfall and the small viewpoint half-hidden in the woods that adjoins the back of the house, all appealed to us.
