Chalet Bolay ...
If you're hoping to spend your holiday exploring the wonderful Portes du Soleil area, Chalet Bolay is a great choice for you.
Situated in Montriond, you'll have access to great skiing both at Morzine and Avoriaz. In summer, Montriond's lake is popular for walks, swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding, and there are wonderful footpaths nearby.
There are shops and restaurants in Montriond, but there's more choice in Morzine, just a five-minute drive away. The tourist office in Morzine also arranges a packed programme of entertainment, in both summer and winter.
There is plenty of parking at Chalet Bolay, but if you'd rather not use your car, the ski bus stops at the end of the drive, taking you to both Morzine and the Ardent lift for Avoriaz.
About the property ...
Accommodation at Chalet Bolay is set over three floors. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, there's plenty of room for up to eight guests.
You'll enter from the terrace on the ground floor, where you'll find the well-equipped kitchen and a utility room. There's also a useful TV room with a desk area and doors to the balcony.
The cosy living / dining area is also on this floor - there's room for everyone to eat at the dining table, and after your meal, you can relax on the sofas in front of the fire. There are doors from the living area to the furnished terrace and from there to the large, flat garden - a great place to soak in the hot tub or for children to play or for a barbecue on a summer's evening
Chalet Bolay has four good-sized bedrooms, three of which can be arranged with either twin beds or a large double bed; with the master suite having a king size bed. There are three bedrooms on the first floor, including the master suite, which has an en suite bath and shower room, and a room with access to a balcony. The second bedroom also has access to a balcony with lovely mountain views. There's also a bathroom with a bath and separate shower, and a separate WC.
The fourth double bedroom is on the lower ground floor, along with a separate shower room with WC. There's also a games room, where you can challenge each other to darts or table tennis - a great place for younger guests to hang out while the adults relax upstairs.
From this floor, there's also access to the garage and ski room, where you'll find maintenance equipment for your bikes.
Accueil Velo - Cyclists welcome: Chalet Bolay has received the "Accueil Vélo" label, and offers secure storage for up to six bikes; a bicycle work stand, tools and a pump, and an outdoor jet washer and hose for cleaning your bikes.

The OVO Network Review
Chalet Bolay is a three-storey chalet for eight guests, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
We love the fact that three of the bedrooms can be arranged with twin beds or large doubles, according to your requirements, making it a great choice for a family gathering or a group of friends.
The shared spaces are very flexible too, with a living dining area where you can all get together, as well as a TV room and a separate games room. This way, those who want to relax and chat are not disturbed by those who want to watch television, or by those who just want to let off steam over a game of table tennis.
Unusually, the kitchen is separate from the main living area, keeping the noise and smells of cooking apart. There's also a separate utility room where you can leave all of your outdoor gear.
The large flat garden at Chalet Bolay is a real bonus in this Alpine area. In summer, there's plenty of room for children to run around and in winter, it's a great place for a snowball fight! There's also a furnished terrace where you can enjoy an outdoor meal in the summer or unwind in the spa.
Chalet Bolay is in a great location, just a short drive from the shops, bars and restaurants of Morzine, but also close to the peaceful Lake Montriond, where you can enjoy family walks, kayak, or perhaps just have a long lunch overlooking the water. The Brochaux falls are worth a visit, as is the village of Lindarets, where flocks of goats roam the streets and can be hand-fed.

From the owner
Patricia & Edwin
We fell in love with Morzine – and Montriond in particular – six years ago when we had an amazing family holiday exploring the mountains on bike and foot. Our son, Bo, insisted on coming back the following year for the mountain biking and we have since returned every summer.
Montriond is our ideal Alpine destination as it is a pretty, peaceful village with its own shops and restaurants, but is still within walking distance of Morzine and close to all the action that Portes du Soleil has to offer.
For us, a holiday in Montriond has always been about the summer activities. Whilst the Portes du Soleil is incredible for skiing and snowboarding, the long summer days in the mountains are hard to beat.
For a bike-obsessed family, the MTB-friendly lifts and breath-taking mountain passes make this the ideal location for both road cycling and mountain biking.
Our perfect day would start with waking up to the sound of the Montriond church bells ringing in the distance, and Ed fetching freshly-baked croissants and bread for breakfast.
After catching the chair lifts to the top of the mountains, a morning of mountain biking or hiking would be followed by lunch at one of the mountain-top restaurants or back down in Morzine, where, happily, even coffee-obsessed vegans are spoilt for choice. A few more hours up the mountains would be followed by cooling off in the beautiful Montriond lake or the Morzine swimming pool.
The evening would be spent with a relaxing BBQ on the balcony or a picnic at Les Gets lake watching children jumping around on the Wibit whilst the sun sets behind the mountains.
We hope that you too will enjoy your time in Montriond - whether in summer or winter - and have the opportunity to make some magical memories.
Ed, Trish and Bo

“Perfect summer getaway”
Our family of five stayed at Chalet Bolay this summer. We loved it - so pretty inside and out, beautifully and comfortably furnished - and there was so much to do in the area. We all hope to go back again - it is in a perfect location to enjoy all the summer activities but in a quiet and stunning location.
“We definitely recommend this place”
We had a great week at Chalet Bolay. The chalet was perfect for 4 adults and 4 kids with lots of space inside and out. The chalet was clean and the beds were comfortable and we enjoyed lots of meals on the terrace looking out at the beautiful scenery. So much to do in the area and all within easy access. Sophie, the manager was great and responded quickly to all our queries. We definitely recommend this place.
“Wish we could stay longer”
Just... we would like to stay even longer
