Chalet Sivara ...
Enjoy great skiing, hiking or biking in the beautiful Aravis mountains when you stay at Chalet Sivara, halfway between the pistes and the charming village of Manigod.
This semi-detached chalet is a cosy base for up to six guests, with wonderful views across the valley to the peaks beyond, sunny balconies, a terrace, and a wonderfully quirky decor.
A bakery and restaurant (which also offers takeaway food) can be found just a few minutes away in Manigod, and there are more restaurants in Merdassier, although these may be closed out of season. More shops and restaurants can be found in Thônes and La Clusaz, a 10km drive away and the ski bus stops just outside the chalet.
Just across the road from the chalet is the Harmonie des Sens spa, which offers a range of massage, spa and wellbeing therapies.
Chalet Sivara is just off the road from Manigod to the pistes at La Croix Fry. This road is always kept snow-free, so you can be assured of quick access to the slopes!
About the property ...
Chalet Sivara sleeps up to six guests in three double bedrooms, with accommodation set over three floors.
As you enter on the ground floor, you'll find the garage with storage for outdoor equipment, a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer and stairs to the first floor.
There's a very cosy seating area with a corner sofa where you can relax in front of the woodburning stove. There's a TV too, cleverly hidden away in a chest of drawers - it reveals itself at the click of a remote control! A well-equipped open-plan kitchen can also be found on this floor, with a breakfast bar and doors onto the furnished terrace with a swing seat and pétanque court. Back inside, there's a dining table and comfortable chairs in front of the doors to the balcony - you can enjoy the spectacular views while you eat.
This floor also has a shower room with a separate WC.
The three bedrooms are on the top floor. They all have large double beds that can be converted into twin beds if necessary. All of the bedrooms have access to a balcony, either at the front or the back of the property. There is also a shared bathroom.
There is plenty of parking in front of the chalet, which is shared with the neighbouring property.
About the area ...
Chalet Sivara is well-placed to enjoy everything the Aravis mountains have to offer. The chalet is just 2km from the village of Manigod and 2.5km from the pistes and restaurants at La Croix Fry (altitude 1500m). Here novice skiers can learn the basics with an ESF instructor, while the more experienced will enjoy the 220km of pistes that link the area to La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand.
The ski bus stops just outside the chalet and will have you on the slopes in no time.
Cross-country skiers will find plenty of trails to choose from, and non-skiers are not forgotten either, with a heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, ice-skating rink and cinema, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides all just a short drive away.
In the summer, you can fill your days with activities or take it easy - you’ll be spoiled for choice in the Aravis region. There’s no shortage of walks, from mountain trails to hiking on the Glières plateau.
If road or mountain biking is more your style, the chalet overlooks the route of the Tour de France when it passes through Manigod on the way to La Clusaz, so you can be sure to find some challenging and exciting rides. The mountains are covered in downhill trails - pick up a map from the tourist office to find them! In summer, some of the ski lifts are equipped to carry bikes, so that you can take the easy way up and come down at your own pace.
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, or white-water rafting - just some of the many activities on offer within a few miles of Manigod.
Lake Annecy is only a 30-minute drive away and offers lots of watersports including water skiing, wake-boarding, sailing, and diving. If this all sounds too energetic, why not just take a cruise, or hire a boat and find yourself a quiet lakeside beach? Whatever you do, you’re sure to have a holiday you won’t forget.

The OVO Network Review
Chalet Sivara is a three-storey, semi-detached property sleeping six guests in three double bedrooms.
The location between the traditional village of Manigod and the ski station at La Croix Fry is great for a group of family or friends who want to discover the skiing, hiking and biking opportunities in the beautiful Aravis mountains. And with the ski bus stopping outside the property, you won't even need to use your car if you prefer not to.
We love the quirky and cosy decor at Chalet Sivara - the unusual light displays, the modern artwork and the custom-built furniture, including the clever TV cabinet! The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook for your group and the chairs at the dining table are so comfortable you could be there late into the evening. But if you do decide to move into the seating area, you'll find it cosy and warm, with a woodburning stove and plenty of cushions to sink into.
There's a shower room and WC on the first floor, in addition to the bathroom on the top floor, where you'll find the three bedrooms. Two of the rooms open onto the balcony at the front of the property, while the third room at the back has its own private balcony.
The chalet also has two furnished terraces - one at the front of the dining area, and another at the side of the kitchen, making it the perfect place for barbecues and al fresco meals.
There's also a pétanque piste.
The garage on the ground floor provides useful storage space for all your outdoor equipment, and there's also a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Chalet Sivara overlooks the main road between Manigod and La Croix Fry, so although you may hear some traffic noise, you can always be sure that the road will be kept clear of snow. There's a large parking area in front of the building, which is shared with the neighbouring property.
This unique property is a great choice for a family or a group of friends.

From the owner
Sébastien & Emilie
Dear Visiting Friends,
We are Émilie, Sébastien and our faithful labrador, Roby. We are delighted to open to you the doors of our chalet, which is nestled in the wonderful panorama of our beloved mountains.
It has been thoughtfully designed to reflect our getaways, our moments of happiness and the stunning landscapes that have enriched our lives.
This place is much more than a chalet to us. It’s the result of a twenty-year dream, a project realised with love, passion and a touch of madness.
Because we love interior design, we’ve put our hearts and souls into creating this special place. Every lamp, cushion and piece of furniture has been selected with the utmost attention to detail to create a perfect space to spend time, find peace and recharge our batteries.
We hope that you’ll enjoy the warmth of our hideaway and feel as though it is also your home away from home.
We wish you to feel inspired to embark upon an adventure, or simply to relax and admire the panoramic mountain views from the comfort of the chalet. The beautiful surroundings of La Clusaz, Manigod, Le Grand Bornand and Annecy have been both inspiring and rewarding to us.
We grew up, shared many laughs, and visualised our dreams in this scenery; hopefully it will now be the setting for your very own unforgettable memories.
We (together with Roby and his boundless enthusiasm), wish you a most memorable stay in our corner of paradise. Explore, relax, and let this place work its magic on you…

“Exceptional place!”
Exceptional place! The view from the balcony is just breathtaking. The chalet is very private, but close to the road on the same time. It is very well equipped, clean and nicely decorated. We are already thinking about our next vacation there:)
“We would return in a heartbeat”
Chalet Sivara did not disappoint and was even better than presented on the website. We would return in a heartbeat. The chalet itself is extremely tastefully done (congrats to the owners on a job well done… I would love to hire them to design my home), cozy, well-maintained, and enjoys magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The kitchen has everything you will need and then some. The beds and bedding were extremely comfortable. The management team of Grace and Tom were excellent, helped us experience the area as if we were locals, and made sure we were well taken care of. The chalet is great for individual travelers, couples, and families. I have stayed in many homes, chalets, and apartments over the years, and this is without a doubt one of my favorites. To be clear, I received absolutely no consideration for this review, and it is written with enthusiasm merely in appreciation of a job well done by our hosts.
“Cozy chalet with stunning views”
We really appreciated the warm welcome from Grace and Thomas! The chalet is comfortable, well-equipped, and has a view that never gets old! Very quiet too.
