Chalet Serbijanka ...
This beautiful chalet is on the sunny south-facing side of the Manigod valley, 2km from the ski slopes of La Croix Fry, and 4km from the charming village of Manigod.
And with a sauna, steam room and outdoor hot tub, it's the perfect place to relax and wind down at the end of a busy day exploring the mountains.
The owner runs a health spa on the ground floor of the chalet and as a bonus, she plans to offer exclusive spa packages for chalet guests!
A bakery and restaurant (which also offers takeaway food) can be found just a few minutes away in the charming village of Manigod, and there are more restaurants in Merdassier, although these may be closed out of season. More shops and restaurants can be found in Thônes and La Clusaz, a 10km drive away and the ski bus stops 150m from the door.
Chalet Serbijanka is situated on the main road from Manigod to the pistes at La Croix Fry. Road noise might be an issue when you're sitting on the terrace, but the upside is that with the road regularly cleared of snow, you'll have quick and easy access at all times.
As mentioned, the owner runs a health spa on the ground floor of the chalet, although this is completely separate from the chalet. Spa guests have a separate parking area and entrance, so chalet guests should not be disturbed.
About the property ...
Chalet Serbijanka is a three-storey chalet for 14 guests, with five bedrooms and five bathrooms as well as a sauna, steam room and hot tub.
There's an outdoor ski room and bike store, where you can leave your outdoor gear when you return from a busy day in the mountains before heading for the sauna and steam room on the chalet's lower ground floor. There's also a WC, a range of cupboards and a laundry area on this floor.
Take the stairs up to the open-plan living area on the ground floor, where you'll find two seating areas. The first has a huge sofa, chairs and a coffee table in front of the windows, and is the perfect place to enjoy the view and a chat at the end of the day. Next to this is a smaller area, with another sofa and two chairs in front of the electric fire and guests can curl up with a book or watch television.
There's plenty of room for everyone to eat together at the large dining table, but if you just want to grab a quick snack before heading out for the day, there's a handy breakfast bar in the well-equipped kitchen. Doors open from here on to the wraparound terrace, which has another dining table in a covered area, chairs for sunbathing and the hot tub, which is perfectly placed to enjoy the incredible view of the mountains.
The first of the bedrooms is on this floor - it's a double room with a king size bed, a shower room and an office area. There's also a separate WC.
There are four more bedrooms on the top floor. The main room is a double with a king size bed, a freestanding bath, a desk area and an en suite shower room. There are two more double rooms, both with a king size bed, an en suite shower and WC. The final room is designed with children in mind - it has three sets of bunk beds, a television and an en suite shower room. Younger guests will also appreciate the games room on this floor, which has table football beanbags and doors to the balcony.
There are parking spaces for guests in front of the chalet.
About the area ...
Chalet Serbijanka is well-placed to enjoy everything the La Clusaz area has to offer. You’re 2km from the village of Manigod and just a five-minute drive from the pistes and restaurants at Croix Fry (altitude 1500m). Here novice skiers can learn the basics with an ESF instructor, while the more experienced will enjoy the 220km of pistes that link the area to La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand.
Parking at the pistes is free, but if you’d rather leave the car at home, the ski bus stops just 150m from the chalet and will have you on the slopes in no time.
Cross-country skiers will find plenty of trails to choose from, and non-skiers are not forgotten either, with a heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, ice skating rink and cinema, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides all just a short drive away.
In the summer, you can fill your days with activities or take it easy - you’ll be spoiled for choice in the Aravis region. There’s no shortage of walks, from mountain trails to hiking on the Gliéres plateau.
If road or mountain biking is more your style, the chalet overlooks the route of the Tour de France when it passes through Manigod on the way to La Clusaz. In summer some of the ski lifts become bike lifts - take the easy way up and come down at your own pace.
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, or white-water rafting - just some of the many activities on offer within a few miles of Manigod.
Lake Annecy is only a 30-minute drive away and offers lots of watersports including waterskiing, wake-boarding, sailing, and diving. If this all sounds too energetic, why not just take a cruise, or hire a boat and find yourself a quiet lakeside beach? Whatever you do, you’re sure to have a holiday you won’t forget.

The OVO Network Review
Chalet Serbijanka is a three-storey chalet on the road between Manigod and Le Croix Fry, with five bedrooms and five bathrooms as well as a sauna, steam room and outdoor hot tub.
Located on the road between Manigod and La Croix Fry, it's in a very convenient location. Although the road can be busy, the owners have taken the trouble to screen the chalet with plants, but there may be some road noise for guests sitting on the balcony.
However, proximity to the road also means easy access on a road which is regularly cleared of snow.
There are five bedrooms, all of which have en suite shower rooms. Four of the rooms are doubles - one has a freestanding bath, another has access to the balcony at the front of the property.
The fifth bedroom has three sets of bunk beds, ideal for younger guests. They will also love the play area on the landing, which has a television, beanbag seating and table football.
The open-plan living area has been thoughtfully laid out with two seating areas - a large comfortable sofa in front of the windows, where you can enjoy the changing view over a good chat and cup of tea, and a smaller more cosy area with a television and an electric fire. It means those who want to curl up with a book or watch a film can do so without being distracted by the chatter!
There's a large dining table when you want to eat together, as well as a breakfast bar in the well-equipped kitchen, where you can grab a snack or keep the cook company while they rustle up dinner.
We think the highlights of this superb chalet are the spa area - a sauna, steam room and the outdoor hot tub - as well as the incredible view of the Aravis mountains. We love the large terrace too, where you can eat out in the summer, relax in the hot tub or wrap you hands around a cup of hot chocolate for a bit of stargazing in the winter.
The owner plans to run her health spa from the ground floor of the chalet, but the entrance and customer parking will be separate, and the business will only be open when the owner has appointments - this is unlikely to be at the weekends, when she is busy preparing the chalet for guests. And it's quite handy to have a massage therapist on your doorstep!

From the owner
Patrick & Ivana
The land on which Chalet Serbijanka was built is part of our family's heritage.
Our grandmother Léonie came from a large family, married young and raised her family on the slopes of the village of Manigod. They raised cows on the pastures and made delicious cheese for generations.
In the autumn of 2020 we decided to build a chalet on this land.
Our relationship is a great love affair that began in Ivana's home country of Serbia - we were married a few years later. The joint Serbijanka project was born of love and the desire to create a little piece of Serbia in the French Alps.
It's a corner of paradise where guests can enjoy the pure, intoxicating air surrounded by pine trees.
Serbijanka is Serbian for a Serbian woman. We then went a step further and decided to give each of the bedrooms their own Serbian name.
"Praskozorje" was declared the most beautiful word in the Serbian language. It is the moment when the day is born and the sun spreads its rays over sleeping nature, the dawn..
The view from the window of this room is exactly that, an explosion of colour, of sunlight and the beauty of nature that takes your breath away.
In Serbian tradition, "Vajat" is a small separate house next to the main house where newlyweds spend their first days together - a love nest, if you like.
That's just right for this bedroom.
"Gradina" has two meanings; a fortress surrounded by solid walls and a garden around the house. In this case, it is the room on the north side of the house overlooking a pine forest and a large green pasture, a room full of freshness.
"Djerdan" describes a necklace made from natural gemstones. The view from this room is of a row of precious stones in the shape of a beautiful mountain range.

“The Jacuzzi with the mountain view is just beautiful!”
We had a very nice stay at the chalet. The chalet is well-suited for large groups, everything was clean and new. Furthermore, the kitchen had everything we needed. Finally, the Jacuzzi with the mountain view is just beautiful!
“Ideal mountain getaway”
Great experience in this chalet (the second one we rented in Manigod). Very comfortable, very spacious, ideal. The hosts are great too; they are there for check-in and check-out which is rare, with a welcome basket which is always very nice.
“Unforgettable mountain stay”
A beautiful chalet! Unforgettable stay. Thank you Ivana and Patrick for showing us your gem.
