About Chalet Parakima ...
Sitting above the beautiful village of Manigod, which is just a 10-minute walk away, the stylish Chalet Parakima is in the perfect position to enjoy the stunning views of the Aravis valley.
Whatever the time of year, the large terrace is the perfect place for an apero before dinner, or maybe a relaxing soak in the hot tub as the sun sinks behind the mountains.
When it's time to hit the slopes, the ski bus stops almost outside the chalet, and will get you to the slopes in minutes. If you choose to stay in the summer, there's a wealth of walks, biking trails and much more within minutes of your door.
Larger groups of up to 23 can book this chalet with the neighbouring chalet, Chalet Chocolat, which sleeps up to 8, so that you are all in the same area.
The property ...
With accommodation over three floors, this large chalet has more than enough room for 15 people (max 14 adults), with eight bedrooms and six bathrooms.
Entrance is on the lower ground floor, where you can drop off your outdoor gear before heading upstairs.
The first floor is where you'll find the main living area - a light and bright sitting area with a huge corner sofa around a wide screen TV and a woodburning stove. There's also a large dining table with plenty of bench seating for everyone, and an open-plan, well-equipped kitchen including 2 dishwashers for large groups. All this is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows and doors to the large wrap-around terrace, where you can breathe in the crisp mountain air and enjoy the views from the hot tub.
The games room that includes a Home Cinema is also on this floor, as well as a double bedroom with access to the terrace, en suite shower room, and a separate toilet.
On the ground floor, you'll find a bedroom with two bunk beds and a sofa bed, en-suite shower room and separate toilet, two bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, one with a double bed and the other with two twin beds, both with direct access to the jacuzzi.
On the upper floor, you'll find two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom, a family bathroom and a large master suite with spacious bathroom and dressing room.
Chalet Parakima is a great choice for a group or a family who want to make the most of the mountain activities in the Aravis area. With plenty of storage for outdoor gear, a beautiful spacious terrace and the Alps on your doorstep, everything is in place for a great holiday!
About the area ...
With the ski bus stopping almost outside Chalet Parakima you’ve got the whole of the La Clusaz/Le Grand Bornand ski area at your disposal.
Equipment can be hired in Manigod, and there’s a handy ski store back at the chalet. Floodlights on some of the pistes mean you can ski until 1am in La Clusaz, on certain dates throughout the year, and the weekly torchlit descent is an experience you’ll never forget. Of course Manigod is home to the largest floodlit ski area in this part of the Alps, which is open until 9pm throughout school holidays and also every Friday and Saturday until mid March.
Cross-country skiers will find plenty of trails to choose from, and non-skiers are not forgotten, with a heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, ice skating rink and cinema, as well as sledging, show-shoe walking, dog-sledding and horse-drawn sleigh rides.
For the ultimate in winter fun, try paragliding on skis or ski joering – skiing while towed by a horse!
In the summer, you’ll love the beautiful terrace at Chalet Parakima - perhaps lounge in the hot tub or enjoy a barbecue as you admire the stunning views over the Manigod valley. But if you can tear yourself away, you’ll find plenty to do in the La Clusaz region. There’s no shortage of hiking or biking options, from mountain trails to gentler paths on the Gliéres plateau.
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, mountain-biking or white-water rafting - just some of the activities on offer within a few miles of Manigod. Via ferrata is a great family day out, with children as young as eight able to explore the mountains safely on iron walkways, secured to a harness.
Less than an hour from Geneva, and just 30 minutes from the beautiful lakeside town of Annecy, Chalet Parakima is the perfect year-round base from which to explore the region.

The OVO Network Review
This recently-built chalet can comfortably welcome up to 15 guests ( maximum 14 adults) over 260m2 of floor space split across three levels. It began to welcome guests from summer 2018.
Situated above the road between Manigod and the ski station of the Col de la Croix Fry, this south-facing chalet offers superb views from indoors, from the large terrace with outdoor dining area, or from the balcony that runs the length of the chalet. Guests will be guaranteed maximum exposure to the sunshine!
This is a great base for holidaymakers who enjoy their cycling. Be inspired to try the route of Tour de France for yourself, but if it is too much of a challenge, please note it is possible to hire electric bikes locally - they may be frowned on by purists or dedicated athletes, but why should they have all the fun?
Downhill skiers will find that it is quick to access the pistes from Chalet Parakima. Manigod is linked to the ski resort of La Clusaz, which offers a wide variety of pistes and off-piste fun.
Cross-country skiing enthusiasts are also well catered for at the nearby Plateau de Beauregard, which also boasts several restaurants, snow-shoeing, sleigh rides, and breathtaking views across the Aravis mountain range and towards Mont Blanc.
The panorama of the Manigod valley itself is very special, and we can imagine guests taking in the views over a coffee or a glass of something delicious from the balcony, the large terrace and south-facing rooms in the chalet itself. The jacuzzi also faces the same views...heaven!
The main living space is full of light and spacious, the open plan space means that the chef is able to join in with conversations and dinners are relaxed informal affairs as the table is next to the kitchen. Those who prefer to snuggle in and relax around the fire can do so, while others can head off to the adjoining multimedia space/ games room.
With a jacuzzi, a home cinema, comfortable interior spaces, and lovely outdoor spaces we think Chalet Parakima has those special extra elements that will mean your group will enjoy a great holiday in Manigod in the Aravis mountains.
NB Chalet Chocolat, a neighbouring chalet for 8 is also available to rent via the OVO Network, so if you are part of a group of up to 23 people, why not rent both properties?

From the owner
Adeline & Laurent
Laurent and I fell in love with this region 15 years ago. Since then, we have been back to the Aravis that we love so much every year, summer and winter, with our five children and now with our grandchildren.
When we visited Chalet Parakima, it was a favourite with our family - the perfect place to realise our dreams of welcoming guests.
The location is perfect, very close to the mountain village of Manigod, just 4km from the Col de la Croix Fry and the La Clusaz pistes.
The spaces and materials used in the chalet make it a wonderful, spacious and comfortable place to live and the view of the mountains from the many windows in the living area fill the chalet with a warm, changing light.
The hot tub, with its 360 ° view of the mountains, brings a feeling of luxury and well-being, whatever the season.
In May 2018, with the end of renovation work, we immediately opened the chalet to guests. It is a lively dynamic area, a place of sharing, joy and revitalisation for all who come here.
It's the ideal place to get together with friends and family.
We are passionate about Chalet Parakima, and we hope that you will have a wonderful time here.

“Superb chalet in a magnificent valley”
Superb chalet in a magnificent valley. We stayed there for a weekend for a family event. There were 14 adults and a baby. We particularly appreciated being able to all be together while having the luxury of individual rooms. We felt at home there! We will not hesitate to come back if the opportunity arises. Thanks to Corinne for her welcome and availability.
“Perfect family weekend”
A perfect family weekend. The sun was shining, allowing us to enjoy the magnificent view. A very warm welcome from Corinne. To be done again!
“It's like something you see in the movies!”
9 of us stayed for 1 week and had the holiday of a lifetime. The scenario where the chalet is located is unbelievable - set in the mountains with unobstructed views. It was magical. The chalet is beautiful- it’s like something you see in the movies. So big, so spacious, wooden decor throughout, and fantastic spaces to enjoy & relax (kitchen, lounge , bbq area, hot tub, table tennis ) The only warning, you need to have a car, as it’s not accessible by walking to villages and towns. Within 20 mins drive you can be in La Clusaz and Thônes, both excellent towns, with lots to do. And in half an hour Annecy. Would definitely recommend
