Chalet Marinaka...
This stunning newly-built 5 star chalet is between Manigod village and La Croix Fry, enjoying stunning views of the Manigod valley, especially from the outdoor hot tub !
Designed with perfect Alpine holidays in mind, it's just 3km from the family-friendly Croix Fry ski station, and 3.5km from the charming village of Manigod, where you'll find a bar/restaurant, a bakery, pottery shop, hairdressers, craft shop, health spa and a physio clinic.
Chalet Marinaka is perfectly placed to enjoy all the sporting adventures that the Alps have to offer, all year round. There's also a busy programme of events throughout the year, many of which take place around the church in the village centre.
Note: parties are not allowed at the chalet.
About the property...
Built in 2019, this bright sunny chalet sleeps 11 people in five bedrooms and three shower rooms, with the accommodation set over three floors.
There are two double bedrooms on the ground floor, which share a shower room and a separate toilet. There's also a lovely summer kitchen and bar area on this floor, which opens on to the large flat garden, wooden terrace and hot tub. It's the perfect place to enjoy a plancha, evening cocktails or just long lazy days soaking up the sun.
There's also a ski room, boiler room and garage.
The main open plan living area is on the first floor - a well-equipped kitchen, as well as a TV area with cosy sofas and a large dining table with room for everyone to sit down and enjoy a meal together. This opens on to the large balcony, where you can enjoy stunning views across the valley and to the mountains beyond. There is also another double bedroom on this floor, and a shower room with a separate toilet.
The remaining two bedrooms are on the top floor - a double and a triple room which both open on to the balcony - what better view could there be to wake up to! These bedrooms share a shower room. This floor also has a cosy reading corner and another television room, which children will love to make their own.
About the area...
The nearby ski station of La Croix Fry (altitude 1500m) is just 3km away, and parking is free. From here, experienced skiers can ski the circuit around to La Clusaz. There’s an ESF ski school at La Croix Fry and the nursery slopes are perfect for youngsters to learn on, but there is also plenty of challenge for more experienced skiers.
There are also several bars and restaurants where you can refuel before moving on. Your Aravis/La Clusaz ski pass gives you access to 95 lifts and 220km of pistes, so there’s always somewhere new to discover.
Cross-country skiers will find plenty of trails to choose from, and non-skiers are not forgotten, with a heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, ice skating rink and cinema at La Clusaz, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides all nearby.
In the summer, you can explore the mountains and the pine forests by foot or by bike. There are quite a few marked footpaths criss-crossing this beautiful farming valley, but if you want to make the most of the altitude, put your bike on the ski lift at La Clusaz and come back down at your own pace, or pack a picnic and explore the Beauregard plateau.
Both road cyclists and mountain bikers will find plenty to explore in and around the Manigod valley. The Col de la Croix Fry is one of the most spectacular mountain passes in the Alps, and a regular part of the Tour de France. The challenging climbs are rewarded by breathtaking views. There are lots of routes for mountain bikers too - check out the Andran, Orsiere and Sulens areas as well as the Beauregard plateau. A guide to all of the routes is available from the tourist office.
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, or white-water rafting within a few miles of Manigod. Via ferrata is another great family day out, with adults and children able to explore the mountains on iron walkways, secured to a harness. If you'd prefer to take life at a slower pace, why not go on a donkey trek in the Col des Aravis with a picnic in the large baskets carried by the donkeys?
Annecy is a great destination for a complete contrast to spending time in the mountains. Only 30 minutes away by car, there's a beautiful medieval town and canals to explore as well as the lake, where you can try a range of water sports, enjoy a cruise, hire a boat or just have a lazy day on the beach.
After a day full of activity, Chalet Marinaka is the perfect haven, where you can watch the sunset then the shooting stars over the Manigod valley from the balcony.

The OVO Network Review
Chalet Marinaka, which was completed in 2019, is a great choice for large groups of friends or multiple families, whatever time of year you visit. It sleeps 11 people in five bedrooms, with three shower rooms.
Built specifically with holiday guests in mind, it has been designed to make the most of those stunning views – evening cocktails as the sun sets over Mount Charvin are a great way to wind down at the end of the day.
The bedrooms are spread over the three floors, which allows multi-family groups their own privacy, and although none of them are en suite, there’s a shower room on each floor.
In winter, it’s just 3.5km to the slopes at La Croix Fry, and the ski bus stops very near the chalet. There’s also a handy ski store, although many guests may prefer to hire space at the slopes.
In the summer, the chalet has a great garden, sunny terrace and balconies where you relax, as well as a great summer kitchen and bar, complete with TV – it's the perfect place to spend an enjoyable evening!
Older children will love having their own TV and games room to hang out in, and there’s even a cosy corner to curl up with a book.
The owner of Chalet Marinaka works at the ski slopes and is passionate about mountain sports, summer and winter. As he is also the manager of the property, he’ll be very happy to give you advice on the best ski spots and the top cycling or walking trails – your own insider guide.

From the owner
Cédric
"In 2016, I was lucky enough to be given, by my parents, a piece of land which had been in my family for generations.
My grandparents used to graze their cattle there, when they made the famous Reblochon cheese.
I decided to build a chalet overlooking the majestic mountains, fired by my love of the village where I was born and my desire to put down roots there. I wanted this property to retain the soul of the Alps, combined with modern comforts.
Ideally located in a small, quiet hamlet, and bathed in sunshine, Chalet Marinaka is just 3.5km from the slopes at Manigod, where I am responsible for the artificial snow.
I've been working at the station since 2007, so I know the slopes like the back of my hand and am happy to offer advice to my guests.
In the summer, as an enthusiast of all mountain sports, including cycling, I can give you all my inside information for walks and holiday activities.
This chalet is ideal for holidays with family or friends, where you can recharge your batteries and fill your lungs with fresh mountain air."
Cédric.

“The chalet was magnificent!”
The chalet was magnificent! Beautiful and spacious, and everything you need is there. The view in the photos was already stunning, but even more so in reality. Check-in and check-out went smoothly and the owner is very friendly. We enjoyed the house, the view, the peace and quiet. Highly recommended!
