About Chalet Le Méridien - Tournette ...
This luxury, light-filled ski apartment which overlooks the beautiful Manigod valley is the perfect setting for your holiday, whether you are travelling with friends or a large family group.
The apartment takes up all of the first floor of a converted farmhouse, Chalet Le Meridien. It can also be rented together with Apartment Etale, which is on the floor below, to accommodate up to 15 people.
Both properties are self-contained, have their own entrances, parking, their own outdoor spaces, their own nordic baths, and are sound insulated.
Chalet Le Meridien is just a short walk from Manigod village, where you can pick up fresh bread from the boulangerie or enjoy a traditional meal at Val Sulens restaurant, and is perfectly placed to enjoy all the activities the La Clusaz area has to offer.
The property ...
Tournette is a beautiful light-filled apartment which takes up the first floor of a traditional farm chalet.
It sleeps 8 people in four bedrooms - kids will love their built-in bunk beds and both bathrooms were recently refurbished . The stunning open plan living area runs the width of the chalet, with picture windows opening on to a large covered balcony with plenty of room to eat out, read, or just take in the wonderful valley views.
The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to make cooking a pleasure. After a meal at the huge dining table, curl up on the sofas around the striking wood-burning stove to discuss the day's events and plan the next. There's a separate TV room, so you won't be disturbed.
Round the evening off with a sauna or a dip in the outdoor nordic bath to make sure of a good night's sleep.
About the area ...
Just a few minutes from the Croix Fry sector of the La Clusaz pistes, you'll be able to make the most of every minute on the slopes from this luxury apartment.
If you don't want to take the car, the ski bus stops just 100m from your door. From Croix Fry (altitude 1500m), your Aravis ski pass covers 220km of slopes, to La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand.
Cross-country skiers will find plenty of trails on the nearby Beauregard plateau, and non-skiers are not forgotten, with an ice skating rink and cinema in La Clusaz, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and horse-drawn sleigh rides.
For the ultimate relaxation, let your cares float away at the heated indoor/outdoor pool at La Clusaz, as the snow falls gently around you! Or head back to the chalet where you can put your ski boots on the boot warmer so that they will be ready for the morning, your skis in the ski store outside the chalet, and head for the hot tub!
Just as in winter, the summer fun centres around Chalet Le Meridien's stunning Alpine location.
Each of the two apartments in this restored farmhouse has its own designated outdoor spaces, so that you can relax and eat out of doors. Parking spaces are also totally separate, as is access to the chalet.
Guests staying at Apartment Tournette have access to the first floor south-facing balcony which is above the terrace of Apartment Etale. This is the only place where you may see or hear your neighbours, although eacapartment has other outdoor spaces available for their guests use.
Further afield, guests can explore the mountains on foot, either from the door, or take the ski lift to higher altitudes and come back down at your own pace. You can take your bike too - pick up a route of graded mountain bike trails at the tourist office in La Clusaz. Gentler walking and glorious views can be found on the Beauregard plateau - take a picnic and plenty of water!
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, via-ferrata or white-water rafting - just some of the activities on offer within a few miles of Manigod. Adventure parks at Le Grand Bornand and Thônes provide tree-top fun for all ages.

The OVO Network Review
From the outside Chalet le Meridien looks like some of the other south facing converted farms in the Manigod valley, but, Chalet le Meridien is a farm conversion with a difference! With magnificent south facing views, looking over the nearby village, to the splendid mountains beyond, a quick glance at the websites for each of the two apartments within, reveal Tournette is a contemporary, light-flooded 205m2 space for 8 people, with 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms, whereas Etale, is a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment for 7 people, with a more traditional cosy feel, lower ceilings, and smaller windows. With 165m2 of space Etale is spread over two floors, the living spaces and bedrooms are on the main floor, then a family bathroom, the sauna, and the laundry area are located on the basement level.
Together these two apartments can accommodate up to 15 people in 8 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms. All 15 guests can eat together in the large dining space at Tournette, there are enough chairs, tables, crockery, cutlery, glassware etc for all.
Depending on the intended meals, both oven/ food prep areas/ fridges may or may not be required !
Both apartments have wood burning stoves, and indoor saunas. Out of doors both apartments have their own nordic baths.
Both have independent terraces well stocked with outdoor furniture, both have gardens, and independent car parking spaces. There is good sound proofing between the floors, the only time you may be aware of your neighbours is if you are both using the south facing balconies at the same time.
If you prefer not to be overlooked, the other outdoor terraces are more private.
Indoors Tournette has side zones off the main communal space for watching TV, listening to music or reading, a home office area, and laundry area.
Etale has a fabulous indoor games area with table tennis and bar football, plus a dormitory room with two sets of bunk beds. There is a double lounge around the wood burning stove, a separate TV room, and a combined kitchen /dining room.
Please refer to the floor plans for more details, both properties are well set up for multi generational groups or groups of friends, work colleagues or a great big family!

"Our first visit to the Manigod/ La Clusaz area, was 18 years ago, when we came to spend a summer holiday beside beautiful lake Annecy. We not only wanted to enjoy the lake but also to walk in the surrounding mountains.
That's why we went to Manigod and La Clusaz, and discovered that it wasn't only the lake that was fantastic but also this beautiful valley nestled in the heart of the French Alps. There was definitely something special about the area, something of "old Europe", meaning no high-rise buildings, only lovely wooden chalets. This was the perfect place for us!
This was exactly the kind of ski resort we were looking for, the kind you don't come across very often these days.
That is how we immediately fell in love with this part of the Aravis mountain range. We decided that the area was a fantastic place to invest in a second home where we could spend winter and summer holidays alike. We were lucky enough to find a lovely chalet near Thônes.
But as our family grew bigger, with friends of our children often joining in, we decided after seven years to sell our first chalet and finally found our current chalet "Le Méridien" We knew by now that this was the ideal area for us, for summer and ski seasons alike.
The Méridien was exactly the kind of chalet we had in mind with traditional features, wooden beams, open fire etc. First we worked on the downstairs apartment , which is now called Chalet L'Etale and later we converted the upper floor to make Chalet Tournette.
As half of our family are snowboarders and the rest skiers, our favourite ski area is Croix Fry (Manigod) From there we often leave on a daytrip on the slopes, meeting up later at Chez Fon Fon , a lovely little cafe/ restaurant on the slopes where we can warm up around traditional dishes like fondue and raclette.
The view over the mountains from Merdassier and Croix Fry is absolutely breathtaking. The ski bus is about 100 meters away from the chalet, which is quite convenient if one of us wants to leave or come back earlier.
We have had so many memorable holidays here, specially now that both apartments are finished: it means we can easily accommodate 15 people without feeling crammed in. We love to have walks from the chalet into the mountains, whether it is in summer or in wintertime, before gathering together and sharing dinner and stories sitting at the long table together. In summer we love to go swimming in Lake Annecy, the cleanest lake in Europe.
We enjoy sailing as well which allows us to take a dip in the middle of the lake, far from the crowd, before stopping for a meal in one of the restaurants on the lake's shore. Our favourite is Restaurant La Guinguette, just outside Talloires, which is old fashioned and has a romantic atmosphere.
In a few words, Manigod is just the right hideaway for our family to get away from our busy daily life. We hope you'll enjoy it just as much as we do.

“Spacious chalet with stunning views”
A very spacious chalet, stylish and well-equipped. Views from the balcony are fantastic. Corrine was available and helpful. It’s a pretty walk to the village for the morning bread. Supermarkets are a drive away but the fridge is big enough for stocking up. All the family, three generations, enjoyed the hot tub. We stayed here nine years ago in the winter and we’re pleased to find it’s just as good as a summer destination.
“Very pleasant”
Spent 15 days with six people, very pleasant spacious chalet, functional kitchen, very nice location with lovely mountain views. The Nordic bath was much appreciated, quiet chalet.
“Beautiful chalet for friends getaway”
Excellent moments spent with friends in this beautiful chalet. The setting is rejuvenating and the location perfect for discovering this beautiful Savoyard region. Hélène
