Le Grand Bornand is covered with hiking tracks of various gradients. Many start from town, and for the ones that start higher up, you can use the Rosay telecabin or the Lachat chairlift which are both open in summer, and enjoy the incredible views before you walk down.
With such varied terrain, you can opt for the shelter of the forest on hot or rainy days, or walk in the open to admire the Aravis mountain chain. If you get high enough, maybe you'll see Mont Blanc!
And if you fancy a dip in some cool water after a hike on a warm summer's day, Lake Annecy has plenty of hiking trails nearby to choose from too.
Le Grand Bornand is bustling with summer sports that you can try during your stay in the mountains. Experience tandem paragliding, canyoning, via ferrata, rafting or horse-riding. There are also climbing schools, paragliding schools and nordic walking groups.
Many of the mountain restaurants are open in the summer too, so if you prefer a panoramic stroll from the ski lifts that open over summer, taking in the wildflowers and stunning mountain views, that's also an option!
