About the property ...

Set over two floors, the accommodation at Helios View Lodge offers plenty of space for six guests, with three stylish bedrooms and two bathrooms.

There are two entrances to the chalet, one of which takes you via some steps through the terraced garden to the first floor. As you enter, there are two bedrooms on your left - a twin room and a double room - with a shower room between them. Both of these bedrooms have great views and access to the garden, so you can make the most of the crisp morning air with your first coffee.

If you turn right as you enter the chalet, the view from the living area will take your breath away. In the winter, you can watch the skiers descend the Fernuy pistes from La Clusaz, and sweeping round to the lifts at La Balme and in the summer, the blue skies and green pastures are just as entrancing. Step out on to the balcony and soak up the sun or perhaps enjoy a barbecue or some stargazing.

There's plenty to see inside too. Soft squishy sofas are arranged to take in the view as well as the television, and although there's no fireplace, there's a very cosy atmosphere. The sleek modern kitchen with everything you need to prepare a hearty meal after a day in the mountains and a dining table carefully placed so that you can enjoy the mountains while you eat. A small, but steep staircase leads to a children's den on a mezzanine floor, enclosed by a wonderfully crafted screen of bent wood which sweeps down the staircase and into the living area.

The second entrance to the lodge is on the ground floor. After a day's skiing, you can step inside to remove your outdoor gear before racking your skis or heading to the ski room, which has a heated boot rack and a sanitising cupboard - hang up your clothes here and pick up them up perfectly fresh the next morning! Next to this is the steam room where you can relax and unwind before dinner, and a little further along the corridor is the spacious laundry.

There's a bedroom on this floor too - a large double with a workspace/dressing table, stylish bespoke wardrobe and an en suite bathroom. The bedroom also shares the great view of the Fernuy piste.

If you're coming to Helios View Lodge by car, there's a double garage as well as plenty of outside parking. The road outside leads to the ski lifts, so is regularly cleared of snow. But with so much on your doorstep, you may find you don't need to move the car until it's time to go home!

About the area ...

With the La Balme and Fernuy ski lifts less than 300m from Helios View Lodge, you'd struggle to find better access to this popular ski area. If you're looking to explore other areas the ski bus stops at the lifts, putting the whole of the Aravis ski resorts at your disposal - more than 220km of perfect pistes and 95 lifts in the stations of La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Manigod.

Cross-country skiers, walkers and snowshoe walkers will find great terrain at the Beauregard plateau and nearby Lac des Confins. In fact, the footpath for Confins goes right past Helios View Lodge, and it's a wonderful walk in both summer and winter.

If you're visiting in April, you're well placed to see the unique Défi Foly competition, when daredevil skiers end the season by seeing how far they can ski down the hill and across the rapidly thawing Lac des Confins!

If you fancy a break from the pistes, La Clusaz has an ice rink, heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools a spa centre, and a cinema. If you’re looking for a challenge, try sledging, dog-sledding and sleigh rides, all within a few miles of your holiday home.

There is no shortage of summer fun and adventure within a few minutes of Helios View Lodge. There are plenty of gentle family walks in the Lac des Confins area, where you will also find a tennis club, golf course, driving range, fishing, a riding centre and several restaurants.

Take the lift up into the mountains for some high-altitude hiking or biking, or try white-water rafting, canyoning, via ferrata and para-gliding in the La Clusaz area.

The crystal-clear waters of Lake Annecy are just 40 minutes drive away, making it a great place for a day out - you can swim and fish in the lake, windsurf or just hire a boat and explore the lakeside beaches.
