Chalet Stellaone

The property ...

Chalet Stellaone sleeps 12 people (max eight adults) in four bedrooms and a children's dorm room, with five bathrooms. The accommodation is arranged over four floors.

Enter on the ground floor, where you can dump your outdoor gear in the ski room, which has a heated boot rack, or the large storage cupboard in the hall. There’s also a double garage, to keep your cars snow-free and ready to go.

On the next floor up, there’s a gym, and sauna with a shower room and laundry. There’s also a double bedroom with an en suite shower room, and a great TV room, with a built-in sofa and double doors on the the first terrace. This sunny spot is the perfect place for the hot tub - relax, breathe in the mountain air and soak up those amazing views.

The stunning open plan living area is on the second floor, with a choice of cosy seating areas - curl up on one the fantastic window seats, or get together with friends around the woodburning stove. There’s also a television here, but we think you’ll struggle to take your eyes off the mountain views.

There dining area opens on to the second sunny terrace, where you can enjoy a barbecue as you watch the sun set over the mountains. The kitchen has everything you need to cook for a crowd, as well as a breakfast bar and doors to the terrace. There’s another double bedroom on this floor, too, with an en suite shower room and its own balcony.

One of the coolest features of this floor is the mezzanine area with a bookcase, soft seating and a glass floor! Children will love to play up here, while parents can keep an eye on them from the living room.

There are two more bedrooms on the second floor -  an impressive master suite with a shower room and a balcony, and another double room with a balcony. There’s also a spacious bathroom.

The final bedroom is the dorm-style room on the top floor - there’s double bed and two single beds, making it a great family space or the perfect sleepover area!

A lot of thought has been put into the planning of Chalet Stellaone to make it the perfect holiday home - in fact, we think it’s a real star!

About the area

Skiers and boarders will be spoilt for choice when they stay at Chalet Stellaone. The ski bus stop just 350m from the door is served by three different routes, giving you access to the 220km of slopes in the La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and La Croix Fry area.

If you’d rather take the car, there is a mixture of free and paid parking at the different resorts.  Back at the chalet there is a ski store with a heated boot warmer so you are always ready to hit the pistes.

There’s plenty to do for non-skiers too, with an ice-skating rink and cinema in La Clusaz, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides. If you’re looking for the ultimate in relaxation, let your cares float away in the village’s heated outdoor pool, while the snow falls gently around you.

In the summer, there are some wonderful walks and hikes that start right from your door at Chalet Stellaone, and with the village of La Clusaz over 1km away., you won’t need your car to explore everything the mountains have to offer

Hike into Les Confins, where you will also find a nine-hole golf course and fishing lake, or let the telecabine ferry you and your bike to the top, so you can come back down at your own pace. Other activities available in the area include horse-riding, climbing, via ferrata and paragliding.

The mountains around La Clusaz are criss-crossed with tracks and paths, so there is always somewhere new to discover.

If you just want to relax, why not soak up the sun on the terrace or balcony as you admire the mountain views. Later, fire up the barbecue and plan the next glorious day in the Aravis mountains as the sun sets behind the mountains.

There is a great choice of shops, bars and restaurants in La Clusaz, and you can pick up fresh produce, at the weekly market. There are larger supermarkets a little further afield in Thônes. The ski bus, which stops just 350 m from your door, links La Clusaz to Le Grand Bornand and Manigod, making it easy to get around.

The beautiful lakeside town of Annecy is just 30 minutes away by car, and is a great destination for a day out. With a great calendar of festivals and markets, there is always something going on.

Lake Annecy is said to be the cleanest in Europe, and in the summer it’s a lovely place for water sports, cycling and swimming. Why not hire a boat to explore the beaches, perhaps stopping at lakeside restaurant for lunch?

Golfers will be keen to try one of the area’s superb courses or you could visit the chateau at Menthon St Bernard.
