About Chalet Loisel...
This lovely traditional 4-star chalet in Saint-Jean-de-Sixt was built by a local chalet builder in 2000. South-facing, it was designed to make the most of the glorious sunshine and the splendid views along the Aravis valley to Thônes. Since then, it has been renovated and updated by the present owner.
Chalet Loisel is in a quiet location halfway between the ski stations of La Clusaz and Le Grand-Bornand, so it is surrounded by great skiing.
There are several shops and restaurants in the village, and it's just a few minutes' drive from the market town of Thônes, where you will find larger supermarkets and a weekly market.
Sleeping 10 people, this property is ideal for two families, and kids will love the large flat garden, which is a rare feature in the mountains!
The property...
Sleeping 10 people in five bedrooms with three bathrooms, the spacious accommodation at Chalet Loisel is set over three floors.
Kids will love the rooms on the top floor. Two of the three double bedrooms at this level have doors onto the balcony – the perfect place for your morning coffee.
The well-equipped kitchen and dining room allow the whole family to cook and eat together. After dinner, you can gather around the open fire and plan the next day.
On warmer nights, enjoy a barbecue or a glass of wine on the terrace, while you watch the sun set behind the mountains. You'll have access to the garden and terrace through the newly designed TV room on the ground floor, where you'll also find two additional double rooms.
The chalet is furnished in traditional mountain style with a contemporary twist, with its stone cladding, quality leather sofas, wooden stools and fur throws completing the cosy look.
About the area...
When you stay at Chalet Loisel, you’re surrounded by great skiing.
The pistes of La Clusaz and Le Grand-Bornand are both just minutes away. Your Aravis ski pass gives you access to more than 220km of superb pistes suitable for skiers of every level, so there is always a new challenge waiting.
Non-skiers are well catered for too, and can go ice skating or swimming in La Clusaz, where the heated indoor and outdoor pools are open all year round, or try snowshoeing, sledging, dog-sledding and sleigh rides.
In the summer, there's just as much to see and do!
If you’re looking for a challenge, Saint-Jean-de-Sixt is one of the only two places where you can try Bun-J ride – a cross between ski jumping and bungee jumping. Other more traditional pastimes are available too – marked footpaths criss-cross the mountains, many starting from the village, or you can explore by mountain bike or on horseback.
There are swimming pool complexes in Le Grand-Bornand, La Clusaz and Thônes, or if you’re looking for something a little more challenging, there’s a climbing school, via ferrata routes, a tree-top adventure park, canyoning, white-water rafting and paragliding all nearby.

The OVO Network Review
The 5-bedroom and 3-bathroom Chalet Loisel is set up for 10 guests over 3 floors, and has 180m2 of floor space. Each floor has a bathroom and wc, and the bedrooms are spread out over all 3 floors too.
Chalet Loisel is a good winter choice for groups including skiers and non skiers – the slopes and villages of Le Grand-Bornand or La Clusaz are around 4 km away. It is also a good summer base for hikers who prefer to set off on foot for a walk from the chalet, in the peace and quiet of the hills above Saint-Jean-de-Sixt, or those who enjoy visiting local markets, and the Lake Annecy beaches.
There are lovely uninterupted views from the south facing terrace and balconies, and a fenced in and fairly flat garden, great for outdoor fun winter and summer alike, and quite rare in the mountains.

From the owner
Christine
My chalet is available to you all year round if you are looking to spend your holidays in the mountains. It is located on the beautiful slopes of the Alps, in the village of Saint-Jean-de-Sixt, just a 5-minute drive away from La Clusaz.
In an exceptional and yet typical Savoyard environment, the chalet looks onto the valley down towards Thônes with incredible panoramic views. It’s a real treat for the eyes and an unforgettable sight for whoever chooses to spend some time in this unique property.
It is quiet and calm, and offers a real escape, whilst at the same time it is close enough to Saint-Jean-de-Sixt, La Clusaz and Le Grand-Bornand for visitors to easily enjoy all of the fabulous amenities these villages and ski stations have to offer.
The chalet is south facing so enjoys sunlight all day long. It has all the facilities you need for a great holiday in the Alps.
On the ground floor you’ll find an entrance hall, a living room with fireplace, a great picture window with a fantastic view onto the outside space and the terrace, a kitchen, a bedroom which opens onto the garden, and a bathroom and separate toilet. Upstairs you’ll find 3 other bedrooms, 2 of which have a balcony with views across to the mountains, and another bathroom.
You will also have the use of a garage and private parking for your vehicle. Below the chalet there is a big flat garden (which is quite rare in the mountains!), then a field which means you are only overlooked by the majestic peaks of the Aravis.
We chose to furnish the chalet in a comfortable mountain chalet style with good quality materials. Come and enjoy the snow in winter, and wonderful hikes in summer.
There is so much to do in the area you won’t ever want to leave!

“Pleasantly surprised to have a Christmas tree”
We had an excellent stay with our family. We were there for Christmas and were pleasantly surprised to have a Christmas tree in the living room; it was great for the children. The chalet was very clean, linen and beds impeccable. Well-equipped kitchen. The only "downside": a Bluetooth speaker is missing to play some music, but 3 times nothing.
“Very nice experience for this family stay in the Alps”
Very nice experience for this family stay in the Alps. This chalet is a good retreat close to activities and stores.
“We felt at home straight away and we had a delightful stay”
Lovely, cosy chalet. Everything we could need was available: kitchen, games, laundry room. Christophe was very accommodating. We loved the location of chalet loisel, away from the towns but close enough to walk to. We felt at home straight away and we had a delightful stay.
