Chalet Cosyneige
This recently renovated semi-detached chalet for 11 (8 adults max.) is in a great location in the tranquil Gotty area of La Clusaz. It's a great choice if you're looking for a quiet setting but still want to be close to all the mountain action.
It's about 2,6km to the centre of the village, where you'll find a great choice of shops, bars and restaurants, as well as a market where you can pick up delicious local produce.
The chalet is next to the Envers piste in La Clusaz, so in the winter, experienced skiers can ski straight down to the telecabine and ski school. In the summer, Chalet Cosyneige's quiet location means you have plenty of walks on your doorstep.
About the property
This charming chalet is set over three floors. Although it is semi-detached, it has its own garden with fabulous views of the Aravis valley, and private access.
You'll enter the chalet on the first floor, where you'll find the main living area. There's a well-equipped kitchen, and a dining area with a table large enough for everyone to sit down together. After your meal, relax on the cosy sofas around a crackling fire, or curl up with a book at a separate seating area with doors on to the terrace. This has another dining area with a barbecue, and a sheltered seating area where you can enjoy the mountain views. There's also a hot tub in the garden - the perfect way to relax at the end of the day, whether it's sunny or snowing!
Chalet Cosyneige has five double bedrooms with crisp white linen and neutral tones for a good night's sleep. There are two double rooms on the top floor, which share a bathroom. Three more bedrooms can be found on the ground floor: a twin room; a triple room with bunk beds and a single bed; and a double room. There are also two shower rooms and a bathroom on this floor, as well as a utility room with a washing machine and dryer, and a storage room with an extra fridge/freezer.
There is a garage for one car with ski storage, and two more parking places.
About the area ...
There's a great choice of winter sports right on your doorstep at Chalet Cosyneige, with direct access to the Envers piste for experienced skiers.
There are nursery slopes and gentle blues on Beauregard and more experienced skiers and boarders will find plenty of challenge at La Balme. There's also a good choice of cross-country trails, particularly on the Beauregard plateau - pick up a map from the tourist office in La Clusaz.
Non-skiers can get their skates on at the ice rink in La Clusaz, go to the cinema, or try sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides. If you're looking for the ultimate in relaxation, let your cares float away in the heated outdoor pool at La Clusaz, while the snow falls gently around you.
Just 35 minutes away, the medieval city of Annecy offers a great choice of shops, restaurants, galleries and museums, as well as swimming, boating, golf and watersports in the cleanest lake in Europe. At the end of the day, relax over a meal in a local restaurant, or perhaps a barbecue and a glass of wine on the terrace of your chalet as the sun sinks behind the peaks.
When the snow melts, the pistes are transformed into lush pastures criss-crossed by hiking and biking trails. Take a hike into the Col des Aravis, or to the base of the via ferrata from the front door, and you may spot chamois or marmots.
Bikers and hikers can enjoy some stunning views across to the Mont Blanc chain from various points along the Col. If you don't fancy the long climb, some parts of the ski lift system open during the summer to ferry you and your bike into the mountains of La Clusaz or Merdassier, then you can descend at your own pace.
For a really special day, you can hire donkeys from a farm on the Col des Aravis for a day's trekking, or try horse-riding, climbing, and paragliding.

The OVO Network Review
Chalet Cosyneige is a semi-detached chalet for 11 guests plus a baby. The accommodation is set over three floors.
Although the chalet is semi-detached, the garden and outside areas are very private.
We love the quiet location on the edge of the forest, with a little stream running close by. The garden is lovely, with a lawn perfect for sunbathing, the hot tub where you can relax after a busy day and the wraparound terrace with areas to eat or just relax.
The main living area has two separate seating areas - cosy sofas sound the fire and a separate area next to the doors opening on to the terrace where you can relax with a book and make the most of the wonderful light. The decor is neutral but warm and the room layout makes the most of the chalet's exposed wooden framework.
Children will love their own three-bed room, with built-in bunk beds. If you're visiting with a baby, there's a cot room off one of the double rooms - you get your own privacy, but your baby is close by.
This room also overlooks the main living area, so it's easy to keep an eye on your baby while you relax during the evening.

From the owner
Anny
What made us choose the name Cosyneige? We chose cosy, because the chalet's traditional construction is very warm and welcoming - it's all wood with exposed beams, a stone fireplace and a decor inspired by peace and well-being. Comfort was our priority to the last detail - the materials, the colours and the lighting were all carefully chosen to create a cosy atmosphere.
There's plenty of room for 11 people and a baby. There's a games room for children, adults will love the relaxing ambience and the baby gets his own bedroom off the parents' room.
The chalet has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a large living area with and open-plan kitchen, a laundry room and a cellar - everything has been designed and equipped with our visitors in mind.
Outside you'll find a large wooden terrace with a dining table for 12 people, a covered seating area, a lawn with sunbeds, and a hot tub which seats six, which you can use in summer or winter.
There is room to park three cars (one of them in the garage).
The neige part of the name is because this area usually sees a lot of snow in the winter - it faces Etale, with its legendary ski slopes, and is very close to the green run which connects the La Clusaz ski area.
The chalet nestles in a quiet spot on the edge of the forest, by a little stream, and is sure to be the perfect base for a wonderful holiday.

“Well located chalet, in a quiet environment”
The rooms and bedding are very comfortable. The jacuzzi was clean and much appreciated after our days walking. Numerous walks nearby, village 5 mins by car (also easily accessible on foot via a path).
We felt very much at home in the chalet and enjoyed our stay. We did plenty of activities in the surrounding area, which was really good.
“Splendid stay”
Words cannot truly express how I and my family feel about the beauty of the chalet, its picturesque view, the beautiful location, and its cleanliness. Thanks go to the Chalet owner for his kindness and everything he provided... and we will come back again!
