The property ...

Sleeping 10 people (max six adults) in three double bedrooms and a room with two sets of bunk beds, which is ideal for younger children, this cosy chalet will be the perfect base for friends and family to explore the Aravis area.

There are two bedrooms on the ground floor - a double and the children's bunk room - both of which have en suite shower rooms. There is another double with en suite shower room on the first floor, while the master suite, which is tucked under the eaves on the top floor, has an en suite bathroom. Two of the double bedrooms can also be made up as twin rooms, if you prefer, and there is plenty of room for a travel cot, should you need one.

The open plan living area on the first floor has been designed with comfort and practicality in mind, with cosy sofas around a woodburning stove and two dining areas for flexible meal arrangements. 

There are doors out on to the lovely furnished terrace, which wraps around three sides of the chalet, so you can follow the sun throughout the day. The kitchen has everything you need to make cooking a pleasure and if the weather is good, you can eat on the balcony as you admire the stunning mountain views. All year round you will enjoy the lovely sauna that will sooth your muscles after skiing, hiling or cycling in the mountains.

About the area ...

When you stay at Chalet Andreanna there's a great choice of winter sports just minutes from your doorstep.

The ski bus stops right opposite the chalet, making this a superb base for families and groups of friends who ski at different levels and want to visit different ski areas. There are nursery slopes, gentle blues and cross country trails on Beauregard, while more experienced skiers and boarders will find plenty of challenge at the popular La Balme area.

Non skiers will also be able to take advantage of the ski bus to visit cafes, bars, restaurants, and shops or try activities such as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides. There's also an ice rink in La Clusaz and a cinema which shows films in French and English.

If you're looking for the ultimate in relaxation, let your cares float away in the heated outdoor pool at La Clusaz, while the snow falls gently around you. 

There's just as much to do at Chalet Andreanna if you visit in the spring and summer. The pistes are transformed into lush pastures criss-crossed by hiking and biking trails.

Take a hike into the Col des Aravis, or to the base of the via ferrata from the front door, and you may spot chamois or marmottes. Enjoy the magnificent views across to the Mont Blanc chain from various points along the Col.

If you don't fancy the long climb, some parts of the ski lift system open on particular days across the summer to ferry you and your bike into the mountains of La Clusaz or Merdassier, then you can descend at your own pace. For a really special day out, you can hire donkeys from a farm on the Col des Aravis for a day's trekking, or try horse-riding, climbing and paragliding.

Just 35 minutes away, the medieval city of Annecy offers a great choice of shops, restaurants, galleries and museums, as well as swimming, boating, golf and watersports in the cleanest lake in Europe.

At the end of the day, relax over a meal in a local restaurant, or perhaps a barbecue and a glass of wine on the terrace of your chalet as the sun sinks behind the peaks.
