About Chalet Manoe ...
Tucked away at the end of the beautiful Manigod valley in Comburce, Chalet Manoe promises complete seclusion, whatever time of year you choose to visit. This and the breathtaking views of Etale, Mont Charvin, Sulens and Tournette are what sold this property to the owners.
In winter this idyllic location sometimes calls for snow tyres and chains, although the road to the chalet is cleared of snow every day. There's parking for three cars.
This south-facing chalet has a sunny garden and terrace with a pool (available from mid-May to mid-September), a hot tub and a funky "bubble" sauna. In the summer, it's a great base for walkers and bikers who want to explore the mountains. With next to zero light pollution, the star gazing opportunities are endless, the skies extensive.
It's so quiet, it's sometimes hard to believe it's just 4km to the village of Manigod, where you will find a bakery, as well as a restaurant and a concept cafe. Geneva airport is just an hour away.
The property ...
The traditional look of this lovely chalet hides a sleek and stylish interior that is the perfect base for a carefree mountain holiday.
With accommodation set over four floors, Chalet Manoe sleeps up to 12 (maximum 8 adults) in three double bedrooms and a fabulous children's room, with two sets of bespoke bunk beds, each with an extra drawer bed beneath.
There's a ski store with electric boot warmers for 12 pairs of skis, accessible from the parking. On this floor you'll also find a beautiful children's bedroom, and a very smart bathroom with a freestanding bath and double hand basins, and wc. One floor up there are three double bedrooms (one with an ensuite shower room) and a stylish family bathroom with a gorgeous double shower cubicle. All of the bedrooms have their own thermostats, so that you can have the temperature just as you like it, and there are reading lights and USB points beside each bed so that your phone is always fully charged.
The main living area is on the second floor, where you'll find a large open plan area with a sleek kitchen, dining area and comfy leather sofas around the large open fire. Underfloor heating throughout means you will always come back to a cosy house. There's another living room on the mezzanine under the eaves, with a flat screen television, which is a great place for younger guests to do their own thing.
Either side of the fireplace are patio doors which open on to the balcony - it's the perfect place to enjoy the fabulous views. In the winter, retreat to the cosy living area and enjoy a drink with friends.
About the area ...
When you stay at Chalet Manoe, you'll feel like you're a million miles from the hustle and bustle of larger ski resorts. In fact, you're just a short drive from the glistening pistes at La Croix Fry and La Clusaz.
Parking in La Croix Fry and Merdassier is free and plentiful. You can ski the whole of the Aravis ski area on one ski pass - 220km of perfect pistes linked by pistes and ski buses. Cross-country skiers will find plenty of trails on the Beauregard plateau, and there's plenty to keep non-skiers busy too. Choose from sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides, or let your tensions float away in the beautiful heated outdoor/indoor swimming pool complex at La Clusaz, as the snow falls around you.
Back at Chalet Manoe, the sauna is the perfect place to chill out after all that action all year round!
The summer months are a great time to appreciate the tranquility of Chalet Manoe.
Sitting out in the garden, or perhaps enjoying a dip in the pool, all you can hear are birds singing and cowbells tinkling. But if you're looking for adventure, you'll be spoiled for choice in the beautiful Aravis mountains. Pack a picnic and enjoy walks from the door, or take the ski lift up into the mountains before walking or cycling back down.
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, or white-water rafting within a few miles of the chalet. For a family day out, try one or both of the Adventure Parks at Thônes or Talloires where you can experience the thrill of climbing on graded courses amongst the treetops whilst receiving information and training about security and having the support of trained guides.
Or take the next step, and have a go at via ferrata, a cross between hiking and climbing, where even children can safely explore the mountains via permanent routes built into the rock faces with cables, ladders and bridges to make sure you are always safe. There are via ferrata courses for a variety of ability levels at Thones, La Clusaz, and Chinaillon.
A day trip to medieval Annecy is a must. Set on the edge of the cleanest lake in Europe, this beautiful city has a good selection of unique shops, restaurants and galleries, as well as a wide range of water sports.
The less energetic might prefer to just people-watch from the beaches which dot the shores of the lake, enjoy a round of golf or hire a boat and explore the pretty lakeside villages.

The OVO Network Review
Chalet Manoe is a four-storey chalet for 12 (eight adults), with three bathrooms and four bedrooms, including a fabulous bunk room for up to six younger guests.
It's set in a beautifully tranquil location in Comburce, near Manigod, with incredible views over the Aravis valley. You'll definitely need a car to get around when you stay here, but you'll be rewarded with fabulous sunsets, dark skies for stargazing and total privacy.
It's just 4km to the pretty village of Manigod, but why would you want to leave the chalet when you've got a sunny, south-facing terrace, a sauna, hot tub and in summer (May to September), an outdoor swimming pool and sundeck?
If you're visiting in winter, you'll be just a short drive from the pistes at Croix Fry. In summer, the surrounding mountains are criss-crossed with walking and cycling trails.
The chalet has a ski room, laundry room, a bathroom and the bunk room on the lower ground floor. You'll find a shower room and three double bedrooms, one with an en suite shower room, on the next floor up.
Above that is the bright and airy living area with a cosy seating area with a large sofa and chairs around a log fire and a stylish fully-equipped kitchen.
Doors lead out on to the sunny balcony where you can enjoy an apero as you drink in the fabulous views. The spacious terrace is at the side of the chalet - it's a great place for a barbecue on a summer evening.
Lazy days can be spent in the hot tub, the sauna, or in the pool - wherever you choose, you'll be surrounded by stunning panoramas.
There are steps up from the large parking area to the upper floors of the chalet, so Chalet Manor is not suitable for those with limited mobility. However, we think it's a great choice for two or three families with children who enjoy the great outdoors, mountain sports and peace and quiet.

“Stunning views!”
We enjoyed our stay at this wonderful location. Stunning views and lots of things to do in the area.
“Absolutely stunning”
The view, the peace and quiet, the nature, the jacuzzi, the panoramic spa, the food delivered via Rest'O Chalet to suit our dietary requirements, the nearby cycling routes, the quality of the super modern accommodation, the minimalist but brilliant design and the ease of communication with the manager made this a fantastic stay. Close to the trails and lakes. Less than an hour from Lake Annecy, one of the most beautiful lakes in France and the cleanest in Europe.

Chalet Manoe is an exceptional retreat that exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the amazing manager, whose hospitality made us feel right at home. The thoughtful touches, like the complimentary wine, bread, and cheese left as a welcome gift, were a delightful surprise that set the tone for our stay. As we stepped inside, we were greeted by a cozy fire already made for our arrival, creating an inviting atmosphere. The manager's attention to detail was evident throughout our stay, as they were incredibly accommodating and ensured every aspect of our visit was perfect. The views from Chalet Manoe are nothing short of magnificent, offering a serene backdrop that enhanced our experience. The rooms were beautifully decorated with a tasteful blend of elegance and comfort. Upon entering, we found plush robes laid out for us, and all necessary shower products provided, making our stay even more convenient. One of the most charming aspects of our stay was the ambiance created by the natural surroundings. While swimming in the pool, we were delighted by the gentle mooing of cows in the background, adding a quaint and rustic touch to our luxurious retreat. Chalet Monoe truly offers a luxurious and memorable experience. Whether you're relaxing by the fire, swimming in the pool with the sounds of nature, or enjoying the stunning vistas, every moment spent here is a testament to impeccable service and exquisite design.
