Annecy Balcon Vue ...
Enjoy the medieval city of Annecy from this recently refurbished apartment or just relax on your balcony and enjoy the view across the rooftops to the mountains.
The four-star Annecy Balcon Vue is a stylish three-bedroom, three bathroom property for up to six adults. Just 10 minutes' walk from the lake, five minutes from the old town, and two minutes from the train and bus stations, you're unlikely to need your car while you're here, but the owners can provide a parking space should you need one.
There is a lift to this sixth-floor apartment, but there are eight steps to the main entrance, which may make it unsuitable for those with limited mobility.
Annecy is a wonderful city to visit at any time of year - with festivals, markets, canal-side restaurants and, of course, the beautiful lake with its many beaches, you'll never be short of something to do.
About the property ...
Take the lift to the sixth floor where you'll find the entrance to this three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment. There's hanging space and cupboards for coats and shoes, as well as full-height mirrors, a utility cupboard with a washing machine and tumble dryer and a separate WC.
On your right is the entrance to the open-plan living area. There's a bright and airy seating area with two leather sofas with plenty of cushions and throws so that you can snuggle down in front of the Smart TV. This room, like the rest of the apartment, is decorated in contemporary colours with original or limited edition art, lamps, plants and books and there are Sonos speakers so that you can enjoy your own music.
The sleek, contemporary kitchen has everything you need to cook for your group, including an induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, coffee machine and Soda Stream. As the owners are keen cooks, you'll also find a selection of recipe books and plenty of bakeware! There's also a breakfast bar with views across the old town to La Tournette and the Semnoz mountains and an extendable dining table with room for six.
Doors open from this room on to the 3x2m balcony, where there's room to enjoy a drink or a meal as well as the fabulous view. On hot days, an electric blind can be dropped to block out the UV light, but not the view.
There are three bedrooms in the apartment. The first has a double bed, a wardrobe, shelves and drawers as well as a desk, chair and en suite shower room. Bedroom 2 has twin beds which can be arranged as a kingsize bed, hanging space, drawers and shelves as well as a desk, chair and en suite bathroom. The final room has a double bed, a wardrobe, shelves, drawers, a desk and two storage baskets. This room has an en suite shower room. All of the bedrooms have blackout curtains and metal shutters, and the apartment has underfloor heating throughout.
About the area ...
There is plenty to discover all year round in this beautiful medieval city, but Annecy’s Alpine location also puts it at the heart of five ski resorts.
The intimate resort of Semnoz is 30 minutes away, and it's just a little further to the Aravis resorts of La Clusaz (45 minutes), Le Grand Bornand (43 minutes) and Manigod (39 minutes). In the Aravis, 220km of pistes offer challenges for skiers of all abilities, and there is plenty of scope for cross-country skiers and snowshoe walkers.
At the end of a day in the mountains, enjoy an evening in one of the many bars or restaurants in this medieval town - apres-ski doesn’t come much better than this!
In December, the whole town gets the festive spirit, with fairy lights, Christmas markets, concerts and an open-air ice rink. The weekend following Shrove Tuesday, Annecy plays host to a Venetian carnival, when hundreds of masked and costumed figures parade around the cobbled streets.
In the summer, Annecy has something for everyone - a romantic city steeped in history, fine dining, boutique shopping, watersports, mountain activities and picturesque villages to explore. Watch the world go by over a coffee in a street cafe, take a cruise on the lake, or pick up some local specialities at the Sunday food market.
If you’ve a little more time and energy, enjoy a round of golf or hire bikes and cycle the 44km route around the lake. The more energetic might prefer to tackle the mountain routes, which often feature in the Tour de France.

The OVO Network Review
Annecy Balcon Vue is a stylish yet practical apartment for six, with three en suite bedrooms.
As seasoned travellers themselves, the owners of this property know exactly what they look for in a rental apartment and renovated Annecy Balcon Vue so that it met their exacting requirements - three double en suite bedrooms, a balcony with a great view and an easy walk to the lake at Annecy, the charming old town and the rail and bus station. They are also able to provide a parking space should you wish to bring your car.
The recently-fitted kitchen has everything you need to cook a full meal (and a dishwasher to help with the clearing up) and the dining table can be extended to sit everyone comfortably. There are comfortable leather sofas in the living area as well as a Smart TV with ethernet cable and Sonos speakers.
Personal touches such as plants original artwork and books help to make this comfortable apartment a home from home.
On the practical side, there is plenty of storage space and a cupboard housing a washing machine and tumble dryer. Underfloor heating keeps the apartment cosy, and there are blackout blinds and shutters in the bedrooms.
There is a lift to this apartment on the sixth floor, but the eight steps to the entrance might make it unsuitable for those with limited mobility.
Annecy is just 30-40 minutes from five ski resorts - the Aravis resorts of La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Manigod, and the smaller resorts of Semnoz and Sambuy Seythenex. Hikers and bikers will find plenty of trails much closer, in the mountains around Annecy and around the lake itself.

From the owner
Karen & Tim
As a family we adore city breaks and when travelling together we prefer to each have our own space and our own bathroom. In fact our essential booking criteria drove many of the design decisions when it came to renovating our apartment.
We wanted a beautiful and if possible elevated view, and a balcony large enough to sit and enjoy a drink or meal on. An elevator was also on our wish list, and being in the beautiful medieval city of Annecy we also wanted to be within a ten minute walk of the lake, and a 5 minute walk of the old town.
We were therefore thrilled to find this apartment, and set about transforming it into the kind of rental we would like to stay in ourselves.
Annecy Balcon Vue is in an ideal location from which to explore all that Annecy has to offer, and within a 2 minute walk of the train and bus stations for those who want to explore further afield during their stay.
Annecy is a vibrant busy city all year round, the list of activities and experiences to try is almost endless, whether you are into history, fine dining, adrenalin sports in /on / around water and or the mountains, shopping, running, cycling, or just want to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings!
We hope you enjoy visiting as much as we do,
Tim & Karen
