Combloux is a small ski resort in the Evasion Mont Blanc area of the Haute-Savoie region. Despite being a small and arguably more undiscovered area, there are still plenty of things to do in addition to skiing and snowboarding.

1. Snowshoeing and Hiking
In the winter months, non-skiers can pull on a pair of snowshoes or ‘raquettes’ and head up the hills. Snowshoes cover a larger surface area than hiking boots, preventing walkers from sinking into the deep snow underfoot.
This activity is well-suited to those who do not ski or prefer a sport with less impact on their joints. Not only is it great exercise, but also a fantastic opportunity to discover the scenery around Combloux and its local wildlife.
Confident walkers who are familiar with their surroundings can hire snowshoes themselves and set off solo. However, we would recommend if it is your first time snowshoeing, or you aren’t confident with snow conditions or navigation, that you go with a guide.
2. Biking
Whether you’re visiting Combloux in the winter or summer months, biking is a viable option all year round!
In summer, there are plenty of cycling routes and mountain biking trails with varying difficulties to choose from.
Combloux is better suited to more experienced cyclists and mountain bikers as some of the routes require high levels of fitness and are pretty lengthy. However, beginner mountain bikers aged 12 and over can book a guided tour of the surrounding areas, learn the basic techniques and gain some confidence.
In winter, there’s still the opportunity to get out and about on two wheels! Combloux offers excursions on ‘e fat bikes’ (electric mountain bikes with large wheels to withstand snowy conditions). If you fancy half a day trying something different to skiing or boarding, then this could be a great option for you. See the website for more details.
3. Paragliding
Paragliding is an absolute must-try activity in the mountains. Attached to a wing, paragliders catch natural thermal winds which propel them into the air allowing them to free fly above the mountains.
This truly unique sensation is what makes this experience so popular amongst visitors to the Alps!

4. Visit the Ecological Lake
100% natural, the ecological lake is one of the main summer attractions in Combloux. Heated by the sun and purified by plants, swimmers can enjoy the clean waters whilst admiring the surrounding views of Mont-Blanc.
Due to its popularity, visitors should plan ahead and book their ticket the day before (reservation is not available). An adult’s ticket is 5€, and for children, it’s 4€. They can be purchased the day before on the website, between 9 am and 10 am at the Tourist Office or at the lake from 11 am.

5. Via Ferrata
With no climbing experience necessary, you can discover the mountains on a via ferrata adventure.
Attached to wire trails, using a harness and ropes, it’s a completely safe introduction to climbing.
